I want to replace the fuel tank in my 72. I would like to use the older no eec type but the filler neck looks sligthly different . Has anyone done that swap without a problem. It looks like the neck has a slight bend on the 71/ 72 style eec version.

I have a 1970 tank in my 71 to eliminate the EEC, bolts right in no problems. Just remember that you also need a vented gas cap with this.

someone plz correct me if I'm wrong, but I would think you shouldnt have a problem from 68-72 as far as fitment to a 'stock underside' no matter which one you use eec or none, or 18 gallon or smaller. Tho I guess someone could put a 'different neck' on a 3rd gen tank, and it will look diff.

i replaced the eec tank in my 71 w an aftermarket non eec tank no problem just make sure you use the vented cap i also replaced my 5/16 feul line w/ a new 3/8 line for the v8.
