this guy actually took a tail panel as well and put 70-72 style stuff in it with correct bumper. car started life as a 1974 model according to the ad. i had to do a double take on it when i saw the hatch on the back.

guess i`m not the only one who thought of making a 70-72 hachback.

you are right it would look better with the 1/4 windows swapped.

sure that would be lot more work though.

change the 1/4s to 72 model year and it would look ok.

The hard part is the roof and inner structure are different also.
I have a 74 hatch with a 70 front end on it, haven't worked up the courage
to change the 1/4 glass since it's a finished car.

I think a member of this forum is doing a conversion like that including the qtr windows. I don't remember who it was but I do remember the pics he posted. He was doing a great job..

It wouldn't be impossible to change out the windows on the quarters, I've seen it done by a member of this Site.
What would be difficult would be to form the inner panels of the interior to conform to the new curves.
Tastefully.
All of the hard work is done on this car as far as the "conversion". And it is done well.
It will be interesting to see what this car goes for. It has small trim issues but all in all its a nice piece.

That's nothing. Every see a 1972 Chevelle hatchback?

I had seen that awhile back, it got me to thinking it might be easier to put the hatch in a 68-72 car instead of changing a hatch car to look like a 68-72.

I'd like to see how that Chevelle is finished out inside.

In addition to the rear glass differences, the '72 Hatchback should still have the front vent windows as well. Not bad though.

I like that, actually. Very unique.
