I just installed a b&m star shifter and need to hook up netural safety switch. Do i have to use a relay in the starter wire circuit?

no all you need to do is adjust the switch at the shifter to make sure it works in nutrel and park only ( shouldnt start in gear )

but where do i hook the wires from the netural safety switch too?

There should be a purple wire under the steering column. It's a big one! It goes to a neutral safety switch on the column. Cut the purple wires. Extend them back to your new neutral safety switch. Put spade connectors on both end. Adjust the switch so it only turns on in park and neutral. Good luck!

but the swiches that come with the shifter are low amp switches, they wont handle the load of the starter

I have B&M shifters in both of my cars using their microswitches that came with the shifter. I have had no problems whatsoever.

The starter current does not go through the switch.

No issue, the wires are low amperage that active a starter solenoid, the solenoid carries the high current, not the wires in the starter circuit.
