shameless promotion for me. I trying to get into the business of restificating and upgrading musclecars and street machines. The latest project I'm doing is a 70 nova. It belongs to a friend of mine that doesn't have the time to finish it. The car started out as a 250 6'er with a th350. I'm installing a 406, 10 to 1 comp, 292H cam, sportsman II's, RPM intake and 750 carb with 1 7/8" headers. Got a nice 3500 stall converter and a freshened up th350. It already has a 9" rear with 3.50 gears. I'm also repainting the engine compartment and subframe, and we're gonna turn it into a SS clone. Here are some pics of it.

Over the weekend I stripped the front grille and cowl off and removed wiring harness and parts to start prepping the engine compartment for paint. My friend already mounted the MSD box and I will clean up all the wiring and route it up all nice. I will post some pics tomorrow.

Thanks for the replys guys. I appreciate it. My friend Eric appreciates it too. He paid a hefty chunk for this car. He has had more novas in the past and this is by far the most expensive one.(I cannot divulge the price tag) The interior is perfect in this car! Its a very solid car. No rust.

I'm guessing because I only know the highlights of the engine but it should be in the 450-480hp range. He's more into driving the car and having fun going to car shows and the like rather than beating it up at the dragstrip. The interior is just too nice to put in a roll bar and all the stuff for the track. He is thinking already about building a race car version. Once we get it running then we're gonna rebuild the front suspension and then he's gonna get it repainted the factory gold color and possibly do like a yenko hockey stripe across the back.

Got up this morning and prepped the metal and shot some primer on the bare spots. Gonna let it dry overnight and tomorrow tape it off and scuff and shoot some semi gloss black. I wanna get it out in the sun so the paint sticks nice and dries up quick.

Here are pics before stripping the compartment.

prepping the metal for primer

1st coat of primer today.

I'll post pics after its all sprayed semi gloss black.
