Picked up the hood lip moulding yesterday. The first thing I noticed was that the studs didn't have any threads. Well no big deal, so got a 12-24 die and cut my own. Then I tried to install it, and oh what a poor fit. Nothing lines up correctly. I even made the holes a little larger and it still wouldn't fit. Offshore junk!

Even the GM originals aren't threaded. The nuts sort of accomplish their own "bite" on the studs when advanced.

I did the same die cut threads on some fender emblems as you!

I see NOS moldings on e-bay going for $100+ bucks.

The USA REPRO's are O.K. and go for about $95 bucks, and the inports for about half that.

i got the OER one and it took some working but its on there now, the fender corner moldings now thats a different story
