It's nice and that is probably fairly close what it would cost to build that car give or take but I doubt he would get that much for it. You never know though.
That is what I say... some of these prices they come up with to build a car kills me. I have had some high end cars before but 150K seems a little steep. Im watching the car and if it sells you will see another one just like it listed.. lol
ANY serious resto, rotisserie, etc... will cost you $85k+ right off the bat. The crazed engine he built just adds to the bill. 70k is a bit steep, because that's just the way it is. It's not a Yenko or a Motion, or a Dana, so that cuts into his price. I figure at Barrett-Jackson, he'd get in the 50's on a good day.
Well I will admit the price he is asking is pretty steep. But have any of you priced that particular engine builder's motor's? I am pretty sure it's not cheap. I would bet it probably cost some where between $40-$50 thousand. Now will he get what he asking for it? Probably not but heck there's always that fool with more money than brain's that is willing to pay for that car. Also I did not see(or I forgot)what kind of chassis it had. Now if this car was a all tube chassis that could cert. to 7.50 or faster I could see the asking price. But I don't think this car is a full out tube chassis car. But I could be wrong.
PS
I just went back to
the add and he left this
link. It has all his info on the
car.
I wouldn't doubt the car was $70k to build but most people refuse to take a loss or they want to get all they put into the car and that rarely happens. Really it comes down to what you car is worth to someone else
It's nice but not near the caliber the other one is. However you could put a big blower engine and nice big meats on the one you posted and still be half the cost of the $70k one
I know what I have into my car and its up there would I get it out when I sell........... like you say there may be a fool out there with more $$$$ then brains. I did sell one of my high end street rods for 20K more then I had into it. If someone just has to have it and they have $$$ they will buy it. Thoes guys dont want to wait to have one built.
My next project is going to be a 41 Willys roadster not to many of them around.
Not sure about $70k, but if I could go out and buy an SS that's been completely gone through, adding powertrain like that, I'd pay 50k. That car has $$$$ all over it.
$150k was for that and the other car together. It's nice but I dont see it going for more than $50k. The 7 sec procharged camaro that won drag week went for $100k and he really did have $60k in the drivetrain
