Anyone know the correct silver color and finish for
my front bumper filler piece on my '69 Nova?

I tried painting it with Argent Silver and a flat clear coat but,
the original piece looks to be lighter silver color.

The correct color is Argent silver. The PPG number is 8568. "Argent silver" is just a name. It is like saying "Bob". If you want to be sure you get the right Bob, you need his number.

The filler panel is the same silver color as rally wheels. If you get it in a laquer, the sheen should be correct also.

ummm this I believe could be a problem if the filler panel has been repainted with any type of enamel paint over the years.....if you dont completely remove it I believe the thinners in the laquer will cause the enamel to wrinkle....my understanding is you can paint enamel over laquer but you cannot put laquer over enamel....I think that is how it works

I think I got it!

I replaced the bumper filler with a GM replacement part.
Thanks for the tip that the Argent Silver was correct and
that it should be shiny. I was able to buff it out to some shine
so I think it looks acceptable.

The sun is very hard on silvers and grays. The original would have faded considerably by now.
