Guys,
I have a 350 engine that I got in a deal for a Camaro. The numbers on the block are:
Casting number 3956618
Block stamps T0710HA 19W553324
The intake is 3927184
I believe this motor is out of a 69 SS350 car. I also believe (haven't pulled the pan) this is a 4 bolt main block. I was discussing this with a friend who usually knows his stuff was saying that this is not possible. He claims that only corvettes or COPO cars had 4 bolt main blocks and that they are, or would be "very rare" if they existed.
I could settle the argument quickly by pulling the pan, but the motor is in storage 3 hours from my house. Does the HA designate this block as a 4 bolt main block? The reason I ask is that I want to sell it, but I don't want to misrepresent it. Since its 6 hours round trip I want to make sure I know what I'm talking about.
I did not see the car this motor came out of but here is my logic. The W in the vin is Willow Run. They built Novas and Corvairs in Willow Run. We know the motor wasn't in a corvair. HA I believe means 300 HP 350 CID paired with a 4 speed transmission. I believe this combination would have been out of a 69 SS 350, 4 speed Nova. Does this make sense?
