Yes....They have them, But......the depth of the Interal spline the engages the male spline on the window mechanism is not made correctly and you have to "Push" in on the crank as you are useing it......Typical Repro "China Junk"..........Oh!!......and after you spend the money, get the Cranks, Install them, and call the Vendor to say they don't work......You will be told.......Gee!!.....you're the first to have a problem......LOL
Anybody else have this problem with the cranks. This is why I asked the question, to hopefully avoid these type of problems. Dont wanna waste my money on this stuff if it aint gonna work right.
Anyone else? Was this maybe a bad production run or is it consistently bad?
there are two different ones. There is a GM one, and the repro which you mention that dont fit. The GM ons are expensive at I think $20+ each, but they fit, and work well.
I just read this thread a few days ago. I had ordered a lot of interior parts before reading this. The windows cranks I received were made by OER. I thought they made pretty decent stuff so I tried them to see how they worked. Seemed OK at first but after putting the window up and down several times I found the problem you speak of. Pulled the crank and looked at it compared to the old and you are correct the splines are not as deep on the new stuff !!!
I ran into the same problem with one of the two new ones I bought. It stripped out. I'm still using one of them but I probably will end up changing it out too. I had a set of pretty nice originals and used two of them on the quarter windows but I thought I would put some brand spankin' new ones on the doors since that's the ones that's mostly seen. Waste of money!! You just can't beat the original stuff. I wish I could go back in time and buy a truck load of it. Better yet a brand new 66 SS!!!!!
