Alot of opinions include, Leaf springs are light gray. Krylon Stone gray part number 1605. It used to be called Dove Gray. I had to buy a case from an internet company because the stores dont carry it. I did find this color under the mounting pads that isolate the leaf springs on my car.
This is a members car. The stickers are not right, they actually used a paint stripe to determine the type of spring that was used at the factory. If you look at the 66 assembly manual on page 56 it lists the colors for the springs. Yours would have either the Lt. Blue for standard suspension or Orange for RPO F40 heavy duty suspension. It even shows that the paint mark is near the front eye bolt.

Sweet, we got some engine parts painted, we are ready to do the rear end and other suspension stuff, i cut the trunk lid & hood in today in the Marina Blue it looks great, we did decide on Sikkens paint though and sealer... and the black is done on the dash, rear inside qtrs and doors, underneath and the dog house....

I believe that is a new gas tank and is what I bought for my 66. The reproduction tank made in Canada is Nice and the finish is like an original. I put my old tank next to the new and could not see a difference other than my old tank was full of rocks. Wonder what year some damn kid put those in there:rolleyes:. At least when I filled my dads Torino's tank up, it was with toilet paper:eek::D.

Can you tell me who produces the gas tanks? I like that original look. Are the tank straps the semi gloss black from the factory also?
Thanks Tom
