I have a question on my 66 nova. I am installing a factory Oem 12 bolt to the mono leaf springs. There is a nub on the top of spring where rear end perch sits. The problem is there is no hole in the middle of the perch on the rear end. There is a pad that goes between but still I thought rear end would sit on the nub to lock it in place before bolting in. Does anyone have experience with this issue?
Option 1 drill shallow hole.
Option 2. Squish the pad down on the nub

Again it’s all factory so not sure why I would need to drill hole.

Thanks for any help you could lend.
Much appreciated!

so the pad should have the hole. The lower plate is what loactes off the hole to keep everything in place.
