The Engine is obviously a clone. The block casting # is for a 283 & the engine code on the block is a re-stamp. In his description he says it's original.... I think not!

The engine is a 327 casting number. Same casting number as my 327/275:yes:
Funny part with this auction is he has two different blocks shown, one chevy II block and one is not, hence, look at the oil filter area:no:

The '721' block was used for both 283 and 327 engines. It was the base for the 1964 Chevy II 283, then was also used for 1965 and 1966 327 applications until the end of October,1965 when the 362 block came into use. The '721' block was used in some of the 1966 L79s built in the early Fall of 1965.
However, there is a discrepancy in the engine suffix code (which is one of the neatest and clearest I've ever seen:rolleyes:). The written description indicates it starts with an 'F' while the pic shows it beginning with a 'V.' The 'V' wasn't used as an engine designator at the Flint engine plant until 1967. This certainly doesn't match up with a a block that wasn't used after October, 1965. Also, where is the VIN number on the pad? Hmm!
