Looking at refinishing the body molding before putting it back on the canso, but we are debating on wether or not to paint the black center portion of the trim. I was chatting with one fellow who said that he remembers an original SD without the black. I'm not so sure. We are doing our best at keeping everything original unless it we really don't like the look.
Any thoughts?

The SD had the black center. Some guys paint the stripe, some put black pinstripe down the center.
I like the black better on all Cansos.

FYI:yes:

For a view of some 66 Canso pics go here:

that is all, thought you could use these as reference.

I looked at/on the original 1966 Canso brochure pics, but it does not show the rear black molding near the trunk lid.

The rear trim is stepped out in the center and has no black. I believe Kach2 was refering to the beltline trim that runs along the side of the car.

Beltline Molding Question

Thanks Dan for the clarification on that matter.
I understand now the side molding was in question, not the rear.
Anyhow, I am just a little late posting this, please forgive.
y'all have a great day!!!:D
