I'm pulling the front of my 65 apart for a front clip install. I have always questioned wether or not the radiator was correct in it, I believe it is wrong. Is the radiator for a 65 supposed to bolt to the core support? Mine was sitting on these 2 saddles and had what looked like a homemade hold down. Thank you in advance!

Hello, Yes they are bolted to the core support.

Radiator is a down flow and bolts to the core support on the sides. Those mounts you have most likely are for a cross flow radiator. They are mounted like that supprting the tanks on each end.

The 1965 Nova Assembly Manual shows a shroud between the radiator and the core support for V8 engine. Mine has this shroud.
The radiator mounts to the shroud and the shroud mounts to the core support.
