hello in decoding my 63 SS vert. cowl tag I have a couple of questions. Trim code is 2-714. I know 714 is black vinyl buckets but what is the 2-? is it the code for the top? (black?) And paint code is 900-7. 900 is Tuxedo black but what is the -7? Thanks for any help! Chuck

Mine has a 1-741 which is a white topped 63 convert SS.

Position #5: This position depicts the exterior paint code of the car. In 1962 - 1964 the paint code was shown as a 900 series number. Starting in 1965 the numbers changed to letter codes followed possibly by a 1 or 2, signifying a parchment or black vinyl top.

Yes, 2 is the convertible top color and I believe the 7 is black interior metal.
