62 454 wagon build questions

Ive read a few posts about people putting big blocks in their Chevy 2's with in frame headers I'm wondering if anyone has tried a block hugger or shorty style vs the sandersons or fenderwell type? I am currently running the fenderwell type and want to lower my car more and I know there will be clearance issues if I leave the fenderwell headers on. Looks like Sanderson claims to have the solution for an inexpensive alternative to the TCI headers.
