I didn't make a banket statement about aftermarket heads. I did know what head and I advised looking in the port to see the exhaust valve. He mentioned the head type in the first post.Can't make a blanket statement like that.....
Many aftermarket race heads the port in the center of the intake gasket face is no longer an exhaust crossover like a stock head.
Instead they configure it to be a water port for increased cooling.
Without knowing exactly what head is being used here, we can't really say one way or the other.
Should be easy enough for the OP to examine and figure out if the passage goes to water or to the back of an exhaust port bowl.
What I did do was explain why that port if it were an exhaust port was used for on STOCK intake manifolds. I'm done.
