I have a glasstek filler piece and I cant figure out why it sticks out so far from the grille. heres some pics

The bumper covers most all of that lip anyways.

The grill is supposed to bolt to the filler panel via u-clips. The panel should be touching the grill. Perhaps your grill support is bent out of whack? Lots of these got tweaked due to minor fender benders. Also check your radiator support... it might be tweaked as well.

^^^ Yep, missing the grill support. Should be a big vertical support in the middle of the car. This is also the piece that supports the hood latch.

Do you have the filler support in? It bolts to the fenders and and should force filler panel to be at the correct height. The hood latch brace is missing and it also positions the filler panel brace.
