I am looking for some information on my block... I was told/read they were made from 1965-1969 and even some say into the 70s?

Block Casting: 3932388
Date Code: B20-9
Engine VIN: 191314004
Engine Code: T0312HD

Cylinder Heads: 462624
(Read they are absolute garbage and not correct to the engine)

According to Chevy-Camaro.com

ANSWERS:
After about a week of research, Questioning everyone I possibly could and everything under the moon I found all the information to this engine...
(Engine was factory to a Chevelle)

3932388
Placed in Novas, Chevelles, Camaros

B20-9
February 20, 1969 (Engine might been made ahead and placed into a car made in march?)

T0312HD
Tonawanda / March 13 / TH350 - 250HP 350Ci 2bbl

191314004
1 = Chevrolet / 9 = 1969 / 1 = Oshawa Ontario / 314004 = VIN
310443-315261 Engine VINs are made in March which match above
http://www.chevellestuff.net/1969/plant_prod_no.htm

Date Code: Feb. 20 1969
Engine VIN: Chevy / 1969 / This is supposed to be a letter but its a number? / 314004 CAR VIN
Engine Code: Tonawanda / March 12 / 250HP 2 Bolt Main

ALSO!!! That page also says this "NOTE: 1968 Chevy Camaros started with (300001)" AND "NOTE: 1969 Chevy Camaros started with (500001)"
So now something is wrong because the DATE CODE & ENGINE VIN do not correspond with these statements!

Anyone willing to help me really find out what I have would be greatly appreciated!

on this site it says
http://www.nastyz28.com/gm-chevy-codes/chevy-engine-codes-suffix-5.php

HD was in A,F,and X bodys. so it could be from other than a Camaro so the vin numbers could be right, just not out of a Camaro

And on this site
http://www.novaresource.org/codes.htm#1969

the 19 (1) says it was in Oshawa, ON Canada Automobile Assembly Plant
FWIW Head casting # 462624 were used on the late 70's Camaro and Vette L-82. 2.02 intake 1.60 exhaust with screw-in rocker studs and push rod guide plates intake runner = 161 cc. Also 76cc combustion chambers.

462624's were on my engine originally. Said to be crack-prone. I replaced with equivalent heads which perform to my liking.

Yea I have read that this engine cast was placed in Novas, Chevelles, Camaros
.. But what does not make sense is that the engine code states that it was made in Tonawanda plant (T) Also that Nova resource page says the letter (O) is Oshawa, ON Canada Automobile Assembly Plant. I will post pictures here of it. I am not crazy I swear its a number not a letter! Haha

I checked my books (the internet is usually wrong), and that casting number is listed as nothing more than a general-purpose passenger car application, '68-'76.

It's a date code: [T]onawanda, [03] March, [12], [HD] '69 250 HP 350 w/ TH350.

But keep in mind that engine code suffixes are not always correct, are not fully documented, are known to have been reused on different applications (without documentation), and may be impossible to track down.
For example, both of the remaining SBCs in my garage right now have suffixes that don't match or cannot be identified: APQ ('truck' 350, VIN-matched to a chassis-cab), but there's no record of that suffix anywhere.
And SXA: SXA is a known suffix, identifying an '84 passenger car 190 hp 305. ...Except this engine is a '73 400 out of a truck*.

*(Another VIN match, with another "What the...?" recycling example. The engine was pulled with its original heads. Except, the casting number was only ever used on 327s in the '60s. Don't make much sense, does it?
Well... If you go far enough down the rabbit hole, it comes to light that they were only used on 327s in the '60s, except for that one time when GM got retarded and brought that casting back for just three months in 1973, so they could drill steam holes and slap them on 400s going into trucks with manual transmissions. Why? No idea. ...Just another layer of confusion in the cesspool that SBC casting numbers and codes are.)
