I have a line on a 35 and 40 splined full spool for the '62 A F/X's Dana 60. I havent had axles made yet but I do have a gear set.
Besides the obvious of being stronger 40 over the 35,what are the pro's/cons?

You need the ultra big wheel bearing end on the housing to use a 40 spline because it takes that big bearing. Unless the 40 spline is drilled and lightened it is very heavy. They cost more than the 35 spline. Unless you have alot of power and a heavy car the 40 spline are not needed.

Brandon,
40 spline break easier when using as a street driving axle.

Go with the 35 spline and be happier in the long run.
