A little while ago, I picked up a 1973 Nova with a straight six and a three on the tree. At the moment, it runs REALLY rich.
Does anyone know how to tune the factory 1bbl carbs or have any helpful diagrams of them?
I'd rather not swap carbs until I at least try to get this one functioning half decent.

Been forever since I had to mess with one, but I believe you screw it in all the way and then back out 3 turns to get a baseline. Then use a vacuum gauge and keep turning it out until you get the highest vacuum. You can also go by rpms... go with the highest and then screw it back in 1/2 turn.

This is all from very hazy memory, I'd have to look it up myself to be 100% sure. Hope it helps

Sorry if this sounds dumb, but screw what in? I figured I would have to fiddle with some screws, but where would this particular one be located?
