I have a 250 straight 6 engine that has a threaded hole in the back of the head. Is this where the oil pressure gauge is tapped into? The hole is on the top of the head behind the valve cover.

I've always had mine by the rear side cover for the lifters. to use a newer auto meter or similar sender you have to use a 1" or so piece of pipe to have enough room for clearance to tighten the new sender

The oil pressure sending unit is located in the block (not the head), below the side plate and between the oil dip stick and firewall.
