Hello to all! I have a 65 coupe with 15" rally wheels and want to run aftermarket rims. I feel in love with a set of Torq Thrust M's that only come in 17". My local tire shop said the 17" wouldn't fit on my Nova. What is the biggest size wheels you can fit on a stock 65? (4 wheel drums)

Find another tire dealer. many are running on 17's and a few even larger. Tire diameter on the front can be limiting. Most run no more then 24 1/2". Some can get by with larger but the caster alignment may have to be compromised. Not a good idea. Offset is very important and especially as you go wider then stock width tires. If you decide to upgrade the drum brakes up front then you have to consider that not all disc brake kits are zero offset. This means the other brake kits push the wheels further out and may cause a conflict with the wheels that are on the car at the time of conversion.

Thanks Shane. The tire shop now said that a 17" would fit in the rear but I would have to have a skinny 17" up front. Like a 17x4. I think I'll wait until I do the disc brake conversion before I slap some new wheels on her. Thank you again.
