OK, I give. How do I remove these?

The pair on the car are in awful shape, I have some marginally better ones that I'd like to swap for...but I can't figure out how to get the old ones off.

Three sheet metal nuts you get to from inside the trunk.

Hmph... Didn't look like nuts on the trunk side, I'll give it another look-see.

Thanks!
I am with you on that:yes: I had a lok at the one on the 62 I am dismantling and it looks like some kind of pressed on rubber or something:confused:

trim

There are 3 retainers that slide inside the piece..they are held in place with plastic nuts inside the rear fender cove...the picture shows the location of the mounting holes ...

Unless someone has applied some different fasteners of some type, they are probably one of the quickest and easiest pieces of trim to remove on the entire car. Remove the three nuts and pull it right off. I changed one of mine out the other day on my '65 in about 5 minutes.

Who knows though. Over the years people have done some wierd stuff to these Novas and they may have attached them with some other kind of fasteners.

As bill s mentioned, the repops are not that bad and a lot better than smashed-up ones.
