1974 rear bumper filler piece

Anyone on here ordered and used the fiberglass filler piece Year One sells? I ordered it, had it painted and now see it doesn't fit like it should. From the looks of it I'll need to do some trimming but wondered if anyone else has run into this problem.

One more thing. I wasn't the one who took the rear bumper off and the filler piece so now I'm trying to figure out the correct way for the 3 pieces that go under the filler piece go on and how they connect (if they do) to the filler piece. So if anyone has pictures of how this goes together, I'd greatly appreciate being able to see them.

Thanks.
Rob

I have come to the conclusion I'll have to trim this piece, but I'm hoping someone out there with a '74 who has an original filler piece could send me a couple of measurements.

What I'm looking for is the width of the panel just below the license plate and either corner just before it wraps around to the side of the fender.

Thanks.

Rob, the center is 6 1/2" at the center and tapers down to 6 1/4" where it starts curving upward. the part wraps around the quarter panel is 4 7/8" where the wrap starts. Hope this helps.

Thanks Tim, greatly appreciated.

I also see you're from Minnesota. I'm in Rochester and hoping to have this car completed for Car Craft National's this month.

Tip...don't throw anything away until you're completely done with your restoration.

Hey Tim, are these measurements just the filler piece itself? I'm only asking because the one I got off Year One doesn't even measure 6 1/2" at the center, it's closer to 6 1/8".

Thanks,
Rob

Very important, I preach it everyday.
