I have a 1972 Rally Nova that I have been restoring for several years. I have the original GM Rally Nova decals but cannot find any information on placement of the decals on the doors, rear quarter panels or the tail panel. Does anyone know the exact location of the stripes?

O don't have the exact position but it basically starts just slightly above the tail lights and goes straight to the front just above the wheel arch and engine size emblem above the turn signal.

The way the stripes were done on my car from the factory, they looked like they were a belt around the rear of the car. I've seen lots of cars that have the stipes put on wrong IMO. I also think GM changed the placement of the stripes in 72, and lowered them a bit. Anyway, as the last picture posted previously shows, the rear panel stripe aligns with the tail lights. For the side stripes, the rear should align with the tail lights, and the bottom edge should make a straight line to the point on the rear of the eyebrow mouldings on the front edge of the fender. Here are properly installed stripes IMO:

Thanks for the info and the pictures. Has anyone ever purchased a decal set from Stencils & Stripes Unlimited? They claim that they include placement specs with the kit.
