i need to pull my instruments out, but haven't been able to find a how-to article anywhere. ive tried here, google, youtube, you name it. and none of the local parts stores have a haynes. im sure i could figure it out if i sat upside down/under the dash for awhile, just thought i would try to save some time.
thanks,

Dash bezel removal

It's fairly easy to do.

Remove the radio first the bezel will crack from the weight of it.

1) Remove the cover under the steering column. 4 screws
2) looking up to the top from under the dash pad you'll see screws across the top of the bezel, undo all of these.(Philips head screws)
3) Under the actual bezel at the bottom, there are more hex head screws, I think are 9/32" undo all of these too.
4) Undo the 2 nuts (9/16") holding the column up from the underside and lower gently. you may need to push it down to get enough clearance.
5) the bezel should now be able to pull forward enough to reach behind and remove the speedo cable, you push the tab forward toward the bezel and pull the cable out
6) It should now come out further and enough to undo all the remaining wiring.

The heater controls will stay and NOT come out with the dash bezel:no:

Be gentle, the plastic will be brittle and crack easily when unplugging and freeing the bezel.

I think that is all the steps, but take your time and it should be fairly easy.

Hope that helps.
