I have a clean, low mileage 69 I found in Alabama about 17 years ago. I had been planning an accurate resto even though it is a run of the mill car. As it sat for a few years in primer ready to block and shoot I worked on other cars.
One was my uncle's 69 Camaro that I installed DSE front and rear, aluminum radiator with electric fans, trunk mount battery etc. This changed my plans for the Nova. While I can't afford all the Camaro has, I decided to do a variation of the Day 2 look. The body and interior will be completely stock, just as if I bought it off the showroom yesterday. Mechanically it will be modified with more current items that a hot rodder might add after buying a new 69 in 2023, Day 2-23. No 1969 period correct performance items like a true Day 2 car would have.
I have used DSE control arms (fell into a great deal) and lower springs, Hotchkiss sway bar, DSE tie rod adjusters and LS1 (98-02) Camaro brakes in front.
In back is a 12 bolt with Eaton posi, Hotchkis lowered leaves, LS1 brakes and plan to use CalTracs. The brake calipers hit the LR shock and calipers don't go to the front so I made my own shock crossmember to locate them inboard while using DSE spring plates. This also allows 1" wider rear tire, maybe 275/45/16 on 9" rim. The shock crossmembers can be bought , but I like built not bought. Finishing up the hydraulics this weekend.
Stock 350 2bbl, will get a seperntine setup from an S10 and maybe some other engine dress up. Have AFR heads and machined block for a 383 in the future but that veers off the Day 2-23 course a little.
Single exhaust for now but will build my own duals in the future. I need to have the car on the road for son's senior pictures and prom then I can change a few things.

I like the inboard shock relocation bar. I want to put one on mine, but I fear the tailpipes going over the axles will get in the way of the shock path.
Maybe after I get done replacing my trans, I'll look into it more.
Your pix are what I needed to see where the upper shock mounts sit. Thanks.. (y) :)

I built the crossmemeber and the upper shock mounts. I used DSE lower spring plate.
I measured at ride height and with axle at full drop and emailed KYB for a shock that would fit my measurements.
They came back with "KG4006 is 17.44" extended and 11.14" compressed. " I bought them, compressed them to my ride height (with axle on jack stands) and used them as a gauge to set the location of my upper mounts for welding.
