Someone told me I could get a lot of money for the trunk lid chrome on my 67. My car is not an SS but it does have the SS piece on the trunk lid. There are none on Ebay to see what they are going for. Any idea what that piece is worth? If it is a lot I want to pull it off my car so it doesn't get stolen.

wow. I never looked at it that close. I know it's not in that bad of shape. It was on my car when I bought it in High School in 1994. I remember someone pointing out to me that it had the SS chrome on the back but never paid attention to it. Someone just told me that it was worth a lot more than I paid for the car and I brushed them off, but maybe they were right. I will see about getting a pic posted. That will give me a better answer.
Thank you for your imput.

And your nova looks great.

trunk chrome runner SS

I have seen those go for $100 for 20' drivers to $1000 in excellent condition. they only go on a 67 SS and are scarce as hens teeth in any condition. My Dad has a true 67 SS and it has been unsuccessfully stolen but they did take his chrome gas cap. he now uses the bow tie lockable gas cap and never leaves the SS unattended.

sold my 67 SS die-cast on ebay for just under 700 bucks (only cuz i am honest and pointed out every frickin flaw i could find - which hurt the final price. Had i not been so picky I could of gotten 1k or more - oh well i slept good that night for alot of reasons. the guy that bought it said he had been looking for 5+ years and it was the last piece he needed to complete his restoration. my car is tubbed and everything else (frankly not so sure it was an ss to begin with) so i felt good about someone getting it who really needed it. If it's not an SS piece i dont think they will command as much dough...
