What is the best brand of outer tie rods for a 1966 nova? I know that the moog es675 is no longer available so i'm trying to get the next best thing. Looking for something made with good quality. USA made if possible. Thanks,Chris

Adam, I'm glad there's a source at least. But I clicked the link to try to find some parts I need and had to claw for the defibrillator and give myself a jolt. $147 for a spring perch? Idler arm bushing kit is $145? I will be using stock front ends for a long time forward, but the aftermarket might end up being cheaper.

USA made parts carry the requisite price. The other stuff on the market being sold by the mega parts marts is all overseas made. I have had this stuff wear epically prematurely and will not touch it. A ball joint should last a couple decades, not a couple years.

The other option, which is the path I take, is buying the OG USA stuff off eBay and at swap meets. Still a lot of it out there. Still run into NOS GM from time to time.

And a BTW.. Moog has also apparently stopped making all the 1962 - 67 control arm bushings, idler pieces and probably a few things I am over looking.

I like your path of the swap meet route. Is there a guarantee from Rare Parts that everything is made in the U.S.? Their lit and video says they manufacture 3400 items in house, but don't claim that it's all USA made or made there. I do prefer to purchase U.S. made parts and search for them first. But 3x the price on the spring perch? the Idler arm kit is only 50% more than the one sold at Classic, but a strut rod or the strut rod nut is nearly 3x as much as at a place like Classic. When I called, I learned the spring perch was made in house, the strut rod and nut was U.S.A. made, but the HD strut rod bushing kit, the one discontinued by Moog, was being obtained by Real Parts through manufacturer Delphi. Delphi has manufacturing sites in 46 countries, so no guarantee they're made in the U.S., but no guarantee the Moog ones were, either. Just an update on the nature of the game.

If you insist on NOS or U.S. made parts, a stock front end can be pretty pricey, even more than an aftermarket upgrade. How times have changed.

have had similar approach to Adam, found original USA made parts on ebay for very reasonable (most recently tie rods) prices, actually what i would consider cheap. may depend on seller's basement/warehouse space, who knows. i did put some serious time into the search, as they weirdly do not come up immediately.

Update on Rare Parts: after the conversation here, and as I own two '62-'67 Novas, I called Rare Parts and promptly ordered two sets of strut rod bushings. I was told that there would be a 5-6 week wait as they were sourcing them through Delphi as I mentioned earlier.

Got a call from Alex, an experienced counter guy at Real Parts. The improved design strut rod bushings that I ordered will not be coming as they are out of stock AND out of production. No more. Gone. Big disappointment for owners of stock front end Novas who want to keep them serviceable. Makes me wonder if just the rubber portion can be reproduced while the steel part can be saved and re-used. The original design just isn't as good.
