Could that be part of the latch??

I did note the oil filler tube on the intake. That is very old style.

That's one way to deal with a damaged door. A phillips head screw about 2 1/2 inches long goes through there to the hole on the upright glass channel part of the vent window assembly. It's a small hole and one that has a slight indentation to make the head of the screw fit flush with the door sheetmetal.

I just think the hole got oblong or the screw pulled through it and they had to go with something bigger that created a dent in that spot. No problem...just put a rubber plug over it all, I guess.

Body looks like it might be buttered up a bit, especially at the right front door where it meets the front fender. For that kind of $ ask, better pictures?

The terrible pictures don't do anything for this car. They make it look like a well worn '66, which it may be. It appears there is a plug in the passenger door, too. The oil filler tube/cap is the same type used on L79s. $50K must be a typo :). Maybe half that if it isn't filled with bondo.
