Re: Part # 3857523

Hey guys....quick question.

Will a 1964 Chevy Carter 1bbl carburetor, Part # 3857523, serve as a direct replacement to the rochester carburetor? Meaning, will the stock linkage bolt right up? I see one on E-bay and I need to replace my rochester.

What do you think?

Is this a remanufactuered carb. I believe they are avaialble from some parts stores. Some people don't have very ggod success with them(leaky). I think(but I could be wrong) the NOS ones are a goldish color. I bought an NOS one last summer and it works excellent. The previous owner of my 65 wagon had a reman. carb put on the car less then 500 miles before I bought it. It never did work right and would occassionally start leaking fuel after the car was shut down. Fuel would puddled in the bottom of the intake and make starting difficult. A homemande heat sheild helped a little but when I put the NOS carb on the car worked better and MPG went up.
