Hi ya'll

I'm in the process of replacing my turn signal switch on my 1963 Nova 2 door no tilt column. My original turn signal switch is an 8 pin with 8 wires. The new switch I ordered only has 6 wires. Will the 6 wire one work? I can't seem to find an 8 pin one for sale.

Here is a picture of the 8 wire original one I have and a picture of the new one that I ordered showing 6 wires.

the 2 missing wires are, a black one for the horn contact on the bearing and the other grey one is the indicator light on the gear selector , you will need to remove them from the old connectors and install them in the new connectors

Just did mine last week and yes you are missing the black horn wire take it from you old one. There are two different turn signal switches version 1 and versin 2 just make sure you match them before you try to install it. As the screws will not line up. I did not use the gray wire as mine is an SS with floor shifter. I also had a hard time getting my turn signal lever to fit had to grind off a little on each side. Please let me know if you are having the same problem. Good luck if you have any questions please feel free to ask! Also mine was defective (yes new) when I turned the turn signal to the right all 4 lights would flash - also would not work with the brake on or head lights on. I had to take it apart and saw that on of the contacts was closed all the time and had to bend it back a little with a small screw driver and it works great. I recommend before you put every thing back to geather hook the new switch up by pluging the plugs in and test it first. The black horn wire can be a little hard as it has to be plugged into the horn bearing area and then into the plug below.
