Classic1 this is great news, is the new aluminum same guage as originals? also were is your tooling producing these at? thanks
Hello droptop63,

Yes. These are very close to factory original GM item in both materials and tooling. The R&D, Quality Control, and Test Fitment was done by the OER R&D team in their facility in Westminster, CA.

Reverse engineering was done on an original 1963 Nova grill and using a straight original 1963 Nova as a test mule for fitment. The goal was to produce an item as identical as the original as possible. The tooling was developed and is owned by OER and the factory where OER stamps them and assembles them is located in Taiwan.

It is a quality piece and far superior to the lower-priced product in the market that has (1964 style) intermediate brackets installed and is missing key components like end brackets and center bracket. As you may be aware, the intermediate bracket on the other repros is incorrect for the 1963 Nova. 1963 Nova did not originally have the intermediate brackets that the 1964 models had. This OER grill takes that into account and is correctly configured for the 1963 year model.

This new grill is very straight (not wavy looking), unlike the others you may have seen being offered in the market.

We are excited to bring this item to market and believe you will all agree that the quality and workmanship is far superior to any other product currently being offered for these vehicles.

Thank you Classic Industries for doing you part to support the classic car enthusiasts. A lot of old cars would not have a complete resto without companies like yours. Everyone knows that repops will never equal NOS or OEM, but it takes a lot of effort and risks to invest in a specialty type business, like CI, Modern and the others, especially in tax happy California. Keep up the good work and maybe throw in an extra discount for SNS members:yes::D
Thank you for your kind words of support. It is nice to know that there is an appreciation for our contribution to the hobby. These parts are the lifeblood of our hobby, and what you have stated is true, that it is a risk and large investment to tool up to produce these items.

OER has recently tooled 1962, 1963, 1964, 1965 Nova grills as well as 1966 Nova stamped aluminum headlamp bezels and 1968 Nova standard and SS die-cast headlamp bezels. They also have tooled the 1976-78 Nova SS and Rally Nova diamond grills and grill emblems.

So, there have been a number of exciting new products recently released and many more in the pipeline from what we understand. Classic Industries really appreciates the efforts of our suppliers to make these investments in our hobby and we appreciate our loyal customers even more! Thank you to all of you here at Steve's Nova Site for the support. We love being a sponsor of this site.

thanks Ray, good to know the R & D quality control and test fitment is in Westminster CA, again, were are Grills made?
He stated in his post that they are stamped and assembled in Taiwan.
Yes. Country of origin is Taiwan. QC, Test-Fitting, and R&D conducted in the USA by OER on original Chevy vehicles. Thank you for the interest. Please post in the thread or you can also PM me here if you have any further questions. Thank you.
