So a bit of searching didn't really give me the answer I was looking for.

I'm planning on buying some bigger rims, namely 15x7. I plan on tucking them into my stock suspension 71 Nova SS. I've looked around at tire specs, and the nearest to stock tire diameter seems to be 225/60R15.

My question is, will this rim and tire combo fit safely with no rubbing? And what backspacing would I need to accomplish that? Thanks.

I run a stock 15X7 steel rim with a 255 60 15 with no trouble. I think it's 4" of bs.

4 3/8" is the stock backspace, but anything from 4 to 4.5 should work.

Wow, I didn't think you could fit that wide of a tire on 7" rims. Good to know I can. Thanks for the help guys.
