I had my car up on the lift today to check things out. When I pulled on the right side rear tire it travel out slightly 1/16th" - 18th" and made a light clunk as it stopped. I tired the other side no movement. I assumed the axle has a little slop at the C clip. I do not know for sure.
Is this normal or is it time to go in and take a look. I do not race the car it is just weekend driver, etc.

Thanks,

I may be wrong

but a little play is fine, its all about how your axle is sitting against the spider gear pin, as long as you have no up and down play, and your outer seal isnt leaking I think it would be fine

That sounds normal. There is a slight gap between the axle and the carrier cross pin as Steve said. To pull the axle out you have to pull the cross pin and the axle pushes in about an inch and the c-clips fall out.
