Since you have a non-stock trans and a very non-stock rear end, you will have to do some measuring and comparing to see if the drive shaft fits. My question is, what else was changed - mounting, brake lines, etc. - to get that rear in?

Is it a 1964 - 67 Nova 10 bolt? If yes, those "drop-in" on a stock car, so you can keep that in mind as you work. If something does not fit, probably not original to the car and was changed to get the Ford rear in.

3.70s are a fav w/OD trans. Detroit TrueTrac diff is safer than old clutch type or locker if available for yours. Jeg's, Summit, etc carry it all. I've had good luck buying used thur ebay, but I'm ancient Tech.

If it is original to the car, it has nothing to do with Ford, you can just reference it as a "4 lug rear end". It is a smaller version of the 'late 50s Chevy passenger car rear end. Regarding your drive shaft question, yes, unless someone did something weird putting the transmission in, it should work.

Ford Falcons, Mustangs, and Mercury Comets had 4 lug 8” rear axles on 4 and 6 cylinder models. Some V8 equipped models got 9” axles. 62 & 63 Chevy II’s came with a center dropout 4 lug Chevy 8.2” 10 bolt axle which looks similar to the Ford axles. These axle are a 2 year ChevyII only axle that are hard to get parts for. There is probably a very slim possibility of you having a Ford. 4 lug 8” axle.. Anything is possible in 60 years and the Ford 4 lug axles were in production for considerably longer. A 64-67 Chevy II removable rear cover 8.2” 5 lug 10 bolt would be the easiest swap but even those are only a 4 year production run. They do come up for sale if you keep a vigilant eye out for them..

about your drive-shaft . .

You do 'already have a T 5 tranny' installed - - ?

For my car ( a 69 3rd gen) - Nova ; I installed a T 5 Borg Warner (93 GMC W/C , 5speed) ; I swapped from the stock p/g trans , to the T 5 . I have the stock 8.2
10 bolt rear , with the stock 3.08 gears.
For my swap - - I DID have too cut down my drive shaft to make it fit .

If you already have the T 5 installed .. . . . you may be ok ; just get your 'rear end' changed out and go from there.

With my "set-up" , I'm keeping the 3.08 rear gears - - I'm getting = 22 / 23 mpg , so far. And, I still drive my 250 L 6 engine , rather hard . . . . and , it's running good , running 70 mph @ 2000 rpm's . Plus, I use all 5 gears .

Keep us posted on your changes .
