tire fit

  1. Max tire width and offset - '62 Chevy II 400

    Steering, Suspension, and Chassis
Three questions: 1) what's the maximum rear tire width I can fit in the stock tubs? 2) what rim offset would I need to get that max width? 3) what flange-to-flange dimension is needed (if I'm cutting/re-splining a 9" to fit)? Thanks!
  2. Mini tubers! Lend us your rears!

    Wheels and Tires
I recently bought my 1970 Nova. The guy I bought it from did not tell me much. He put new tires and cragers on it. They are 215/35/15. Long story short I found out this car had a brand new Detroit speed mini tub kit! Now I want to get rid of the funny small tires in the rear. Im going crazy...
  3. what size rims and tires can I get away with?

Would the 17x7, 4.25" backspacing fit on a 1st gen stock suspension and what size tires?
  4. Moving leaf spring mounts

    Body and Interior
Moving leaf spring mounts on 66 Can you move the front and rear leaf spring mounts inward, narrow the rearend and widen the inner wheel wheels to make room for wider tires on a 66. Would I want to? How close together can you put leaf springs so they will still do their job correctly?
