shifter linkage

The shift cable on my '66 broke and i need to order a new one. I have a floor mounted hurst pro-matic shifter and a th350. What length cable should i get? the one that is on there looks like its probably 5 ft and is looped around pretty good. What do you guys run or what works the best?

Any of you guys with 63 -65 model cars used a trans mount from Year One or Classic Industries? I have a TCI clip and I'd like to buy one that will take care of the correct alignment to the rearend and clearance at the tunnel. I wouldn't mind drilling holes, but I don't have access to machine...
