Originally sold by a dealership in Salt Lake City, Utah. I'm the 3rd owner. The 2nd owner wrecked it and bent the subframe.
1970 Chevrolet Nova (Burgundy)
Original engine was a 6 cyl./TH350 trans. I'm using a SB 350 bored .030 over. Used a 1 piece rear main seal block. Based on an engine build article in CHP...Agent 87. Modified to increase compression to get closer to 400 hp without going over 9:1. Using a 8.5" posi rear from a '74 Ventura and a 700R4 transmission. Changing rear gear ratio to 3.73. Plan to convert manual drum brakes to 4-wheel power disc using a hydroboost.
American Autowire update kit. Replacing original column shift steering column with Flaming River floor shift tilt column. Plans for electric windows and locks. Replacing bench seat with buckets and original dash with Covan's dash with Autometer gauges.
2" cowl induction hood. Undecided about shaving door handles.
Replaced the subframe with one from a '73 Nova. Had it sandblasted and powdercoated. Added tubular control arms, power rack & pinion steering and disc brakes. Plans call for coilover conversion.
