History
The original owner of the car ordered this car specifically as he wanted it from Davidson Chevrolet in Denver. When the kids left for college, he and his wife bought the car with the intent on touring the west and spending their kids inheritance. They drove the car all over AZ, UT, and NV. He loved that car and in the 1980s his sight began to fail and he could no longer drive. He wanted the car to go to a good home and was so sad to part with the car. I purchased this car from the from him when I was 15 years old with the intent of parting it out for my parents 66 SS. (Original owners). I did not have the heart to tell him I was going to part it out because he was crying as we drove the car away from his home. I did not need parts right away and so I kept driving it and eventually it grew on me. It was my daily driver from 1980 to 1994. One day after an accident in a snowstorm, I decided it was time to get rid of it or fix it right. I grew up listening to my dad, my grand-dad, my uncles, my great grand dad - all reminiscing about their "High-school" car and how that was the greatest car they ever owned. I decided I would never part with my high-school car and so I bought a daily driver truck so I would have something during the restoration on this car. The car now resides in the Phoenix area. All parts are original GM and nothing aftermarket. (So they fit right!) The headliner and the seat covers are custom, so they are not the original look. Everything else is factory correct.
