1989 GM bright blue
Purchased in 1980 as my graduation present from high school. Paid 2250.00 for it. It was an original ss car but the original motor and rearend were already gone. The 4 speed was still there though. Original color was maroon and a white lower stripe and a red vinyl top.
1975 Chevrolet Nova SS (1989 GM bright blue)
The motor is currently a 489. It has Scat crank and rods, 11.5 pistons, Dart Racerite heads, big Howards roller cam, Edelbrock tunnelram with 2-750 holleys on E-85. All fed by a Quickfuel pump, and a 2 stage regulator from Fuelcurve West.
The interior is a cross between stock and racecar. It has aluminum door panels, custom gauge panel, seats from a 88 trans am, 6pt rollbar. and a few aluminum panels in the rear. Everything else is stock. The trunk is all aluminum with a custum aluminum 23 gallon fuel tank. The pics are old.
Restification done in 1989. Repainted gm bright blue with silver stripe on the lower. Had a 7in snorkel scoop then changed to the 2 1/4 cowl induction about 2000. In 1995 a friend and I tubbed the car.
Just the sounds coming from my radio station, WBBC489 LOL!!!
Pretty much stock in front except for the QA-1 adj. shocks. The rear has leaf springs from Detroit eaton springs that are 3in lower than stock and they are moved in to accomodate the big tires. Rear shocks are also QA-1 adj. The only traction device is the slide-a-links. I am considering upgrading to a 4 link setup though.
Wheel and Tire
The front wheels are 15x4 Centerline Warriors with Mickey thompson tires. The back wheels are 15x14 Centerline Warriors with Hoosier 31x18.50x15 stickys.
