It gets really tight really fast. I have never had the front grille and bumper on this car yet, and to my surprise it is really tight and not a lot of room. The only other place really is to put it where the grille is and modify the grille and or inline with the radiator and fan but that space...

Got of little work done. Im waiting on some vbands to start the hot side piping so i decided to tackle the shifter. I used 3/16 metal and welded a plate to the transmission tunnel. I did a lot of mocking up of where radiator and fans and intercooler are going to sit. This is what I came up...

Made a lot of progress today. Dad and I put a full day in the shop. I got the motor and transmission bolted up while dad installed the suspension. I installed the oil pan, new gasket, oil filter and a bunch of little things too. I had to pull the transmission pump to put a spring in the pump...

Finished up the front subframe along with the power steering rack, ididit steering column, wheel hubs and nuts/bolts. It has been some late nights in the shop this week, but very satisfying to get this all painted. Next is to get it all back together.
  8. Moving vehicle with front clip off? Supports?

    Body and Interior
Couple long 5.5 or 6inch bolts through a 4x4 and a 2x6 to tie them together for support. Harbor freight 40 dollar wheel dolley for the front and this rolls around the shop nicely. Getting it on a car trailer might be diffcult but could always change to a rubber wheel up front if needed.

Got a good part of the front suspension pieces done. Since I switched jobs, I have to spray my parts at home now(which isnt the worst). My shop isnt huge so I have to setup these pieces in batches. This is majority of the front suspension parts. The front sub frame will be next along with...

I got the front end all taken apart and I'm getting it ready for some epoxy primer. I cleaned up all the welds on the trans tunnel and brushed 2 coats of epoxy primer on. Im just going to leave it in epoxy to top coat it another day. I wanted to get the car off to the side of the garage so i...

Got the oil pan baffle back. I cleaned up all the welds with a grinder. I then took a wire wheel to the whole thing and cleaned up any burrs on all the edges of the metal. I want to be sure there is none that can flake off in the oil pan so it doesn't get sucked up. I went to another friends...

Paint can take awhile. I've been doing auto body for 12 years now. I know customers can get anxious but just hang in there, it will come out great with patience. Thank you.

Got the car back to a roller! Feels really good to see the car back on its own 4 wheels, and it looks good too! Adding new wheels to any build makes it feel like "your" own car or build and attitude that it will have seeing it go down the street. I sold the old wheels too. The 3/4" inch...

So we decided to pull the trigger on wheels and tires. I ended up going with polished american racing torq thrust wheels 17x9.5 with a 5.5 backspace on all four corners. The tires are 275/40/17 nitto nt05 in the rear and 255/40/17 up front. I am going to be running a 3/4 inch spacer in the...
  15. Filter to use for 2K epoxy paint?

    Body and Interior
07193 3m disposable mask filter is the one you want. Get the large size. There are ways to fit them as well. Your supposed to be cleaned shaved. Then set it to correct tightness to your liking. Then cover the intake holes and breathe in and mask should suck to your face with no air leaking...

Thanks leading me towards them. I actually have talked to anchor before about his wheel setup. Hes running a 255 in the front. First gen army has a great picture with his wheels on and fenders on. Yea I hear ya. They are not my first choice but if I have to settle on them to keep the project...
  17. Tci protouring wheel fitmet

    Wheels and Tires
I'm in the process of picking out/ browsing/ dreaming of wheels I would like to get and I'm going to settle on torque thrust most likely. My question is has anyone on here run the 17x9.5 with the 5.5 backspace on the front of the TCI pro touring kit( I purchased it in 2017). I talked to evan...

Made some headway this past weekend and a little during the week. We decided to button up the rear end so the car can roll again so i can get it to my shop at my house. We installed the 3rd member and torqued all the bolts to spec. I got some copper washers that are supposed to go on the case...

    The BS Area
I check the site daily. More like a routine to see a new build update or try and learn something new. Forums like this one hold so much information that can be found for years to come. Facebook and other social media is hard to refer back to when it gets buried to the bottom daily.
  20. 17x4.5 front runner

    Wheels and Tires
I cant tell you how they would look but off your numbers you provided, with your 15x6, 3.5bs setup, you have 2.5 inches of rim coming off of the hub face. With the other wheels, the 17x4.5, 2.2bs, there would be 2.3 inches of rim sticking out from the hub face. So that wheel would sit in .2 of...
