stock 327, 200 HP out of a first gen camaro. air cleaner says 300 horse, all in due time. down the road im going to build either a 396 or 427 for it. but for now im happy with the small block.
SBC. Standard .03" over. Edelbrock EFI. Decent HP. I like the lighter weight up front compared to a BB. But..... If I were to do it over, Id go with a BB. I really love BBs. Specially in a small car, mine is a 62. I just dont know if I could get it to handle like I like with the added weight.
But if I were to get a BB this is the one I would get. ZZ 572. 700hp, turn key. It has a nice line up of parts. And 14 grand isnt bad for what you get. Heck, Im into my SB for at least 7 grand.
Oh, and a another funny vid of the farm boys plowing the dirt. Hmmmm?? Wonder why he didnt send the power to the front tires??? Weak jeep X-fer case prolly. Farmers???? LOL http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GhNPJX3ZAZM
I have a small block car, a big block car, and want a LS small block engine in the next one. Another member says it best that "one day ls engines will rule the world.":yes::yes::yes::turn::turn:
I went from a 250 I6 to a 350 4bolt and now to a 454 BBC Tell you what for the cost a BBC is the feel in your seat in power difference for the money. MAN I love my 79 with the BBC in it and no one even comes close to guessing I have it in my car lol
Big blocks are so much more fun. Im upgrading from my 396 BBC to a built and balanced 454. Saving up for a blower this winter so hopefully next race season ill be running 10's or faster.:yes:
i see alot of people going from a 355 to a 454 and loving the difference in power. but i can tell you i would run a well built SBC before a BBC any day of the week. you can get Big Block power in a Small Block package! its proven every day!
Mine is a turbo I6 and I love it
I have had BBC, SBC, and I6 with and without turbo. BBC was fastest, turbo 6 the most fun. Loved the look on unsuspecting faces when I blew them away with a stock sounding school bus motor!!!
At the age of 22, back in 1969 while in college in San Marcos Texas, I ordered a 1969 Nova SS L78. Dealer had never sold one prior to mine.
After the first four weeks, I must have checked with Chev. dealer every day waiting for it to arrive.
Drove it for 2 - 3 years before trading it in....That was the most fun 33K miles I ever put on a vehicle, some great memories.....40 years later, it would be hard for me to be satisfied with anything less than a 396... Unless it was a 454...!
