Its fun to watch people try to figure out what the hell is that, you can tell the younger generation guys from the older ones. The 409 is Chevrolets original Big Block and a version of it was Chevrolets first 427, the Z11! Nothing against SBC, they are great motors but they are like belly buttons, everybody has one. I also have a 67 Corvette with a 327 and I never open the hood because I feel like people don't want to see another SBC with a chrome air cleaner and aluminum rocker covers, sorry I know Ill take heat for that.
Please show us pictures!
an 09 is perfect!

BB vs SB

Bought this '74 on E-bay out of Oregon,NO RUST. it had a 350, with 305 heads. the block is a 4 bolt by the casting # from a bread truck type vehicle. headers, edelbrock performer intake 650 edelbrock< came with a quad ra jet. on a 2004R stock 6 cyl auto rear, open. got a lot of hot toys, but this is the BEST street set up that gives a nice punch. I can spin the tires whenever but just in regular in town driving its great.
Got to have something mom can drive!!!

Mark I haven't had the chance to drive it yet as it won't be completed till spring. I belong to a gasser club and should have it to the track next year. Ive been building this car for 4 years but I just retired last month so this project is in full swing. As far as the front axle I don't know the manufacture as I bought a B'Z Rods front end that had the axle on it. Thanks for checking out my pics!

Just picked a 72 with a 496. Wish the weather was better, barely drove it and now it's time for its winter nap.
