Rick, it does take that kind of HP when you are pushing a car that weighs 3,250 lbs without me in it. As for the heads there was extensive hand work done on these heads to include filling on the intake side.

Rick I disagree! I have a 70 Nova that tips the scales around 3190# with me in it and I ran 9.90's and I have right at 750HP give or take a few. Now keep in mind if you have a 2200# full blown drag car then NO it will not take 750HP to run 9's @ 135....that's common sense! I'd like to see you prove how a 3200 or 3250# car can run 9's without 700 or 750HP.....I'll be waiting for your reply......

Here's my reply These ARE Specs. on a 441 B.B. Chevy.,
This engine was dynoed on a Super-Flo engine Dyno. at Gressman Powersports here in Fremont Oh. (Not a desk top dyno figure),

.060 over 427
Huggings solid roller 268-276 @ .050 .687-.693 Lift
12.7 to 1 compression
GM Square-port cyl. heads,
Dart 4150 Intake
APD Alky 750
GM 3/8th's In. rods fitted with ARP Bolts
GM Steel Crank

This Simple little 427 B.B. Chevy Runs 10.40's at 127mph in a 3,600lb. (With driver) Natuarrly aspirated Tubbed out using 32x14.5x15 inch goodyear slicks, Stock front Suspension sitting in-between the Frame-rails of a 1984 Chevy C-10 Shortbed Pickup Truck,

Now cut 400 Lbs. from this truck/and say put it in your Lighter 3,200 lb. Car and you'll see the 3-4 tenths Faster ET. With a MPH Increase in the neighborhood of 4-5 mph IN Short generating 9.90's to low 10.0s at 134-135 mph in a 3,200 lb. Car.,

MPH IS The factor of How much HP your engine is Producing/at the weight.

Truth is,
This engine only Made 637 hp at 6,800 along with 581 Ft. Lbs. of torque at 5,500 on the Super-Flo Dyno.,
Using the Correct Barometric Pressures Logged in from the Fremont Airport/Along with the Correct Altitude Entered in from Same Airport.,

UNLESS this Correct Info. IS Logged in the computer/Dyno. upon making a Pull.,
You CAN Simply enter in ANY Mis-leading Info. and Make a True 500 HP engine Look to produce 700 Mis-leading Horsepower if you'd like it to/But it does look good on paper.,
The 3,600 Lb.+ C-10 Pick-up truck Truck Uses a>>
Coan 5,500 Convertor
Coan Turbo 400
9 Inch ford with 4.56 gears
Is launched off Footbrake,Shifted at 6,500 and sees 6,700 through traps in quarter Mile.,
60 Foot Times are Mid 1.44's,6.50's in Eight Mile at 107-108 Mph along with the Low 10.40's at 126-127 mph.,

This is my old 540 B.B. Combo. it produced a TRUE 813 hp at 7,200 with Torque in the 670 range at 5,900. on Same super-flo engine dyno. used to dyno. My Old 406 in first reply, along with the .060 over 427 mentioned above.

GenVI 502 Block .030 over for a 4.500 inch bore
Eagle Internally balanced 4.250 Stroker Crank
Outa-box Dart Pro 1 345's 2.300-1.900
Eagle 6.385 Length rods
Off the shelf JE/SRP Pistons at 12.5 to1 Compression
Outa-box Dart 4500 Intake/2 In. open spacer
Reed Solid Roller 278-284 at .050 .779-.787 Lift
APD 1250 CFM Alky Dominator.,

This engine when ran in a 2,001 225 WB Spitzer Chassis dragster ran Deadly Consistent Round winning 7.82-7.84's at 168-169 mph.,(This 540 was replaced with a 1,250 TRUE HP 632 Cu. Incher as shown on APD's Web-site,and now is runing in the 6.80's at 201-202 mph),
The 540 was placed in my OLD 72 Buick Skylark Tube Chassis Dragcar at 2,610lbs. (with me aboard) and ran Mid 8.60's at 156-157 mph with 60 Footers in the Mid 1.22-low 1.23 range off transbrake at 4,800 with 5,500 convertor and a BTE Equipped 1.80 Straight cut equipped Powerglide Trans.,

Now,
Say you add say 600 lbs. to the Buick/Or put it in your 3,200 Lb. Nova you'd still be going High 9.teens to Very Low 9.20's in the High 146+ MPH Range with the Same 540 Making 813 hp.,
In short explaining the Not having to have 750+ Hp at 3,200+ Lbs. to produce 9.90's at 135 mph.,

Not at all busting your Guy's Combo's/Cars.,
Just showing you a Couple engines that WERE Actually placed on a engine dyno.,
Along with the CORRECT Info. logged in,And the Times/MPH these engines run at a given weight.

Qwk.,

Port Clinton is approx. 12-15 Miles from Fremont (30-35 Miles from NRP)
Castalia is around 15-20 Miles from Fremont (25-30 Miles from NRP),
I'm located exactly 38 Miles from NRP (Norwalk Raceway Park),

148 MPH is a very good MPH for a 9.18 ET.,
These Guy's are Spaying a 400 Shot of the Go Fast Juice ,

The Lil Deuce Has'nt been hurt in 2 Yrs./And Does get driven Quite often on the Street,
After it received Norwalks Super Chevy Show Best Editors award in 2,002,
Fuel cell in Trunk was Re-filled,and the Lil Deuce was On It's way into the City of Downtown Norwalk for Ice-Cream Cones for the Kids

The Ford IS Constantly apart for the Head Gasket Failures,
Has Had NO Success Using Fel-Pro Full Race Series head Gaskets,The High $ 3 Piece Cometics Head gaskets,Nor Copper Head Gaskets with Sealant along with the O-Rings.,
The Ford Has NO Issues when spraying 300-325

After looking at the receiver grooves in the Cyl. Heads,
It was very evident of the Receivers being cut to deep in the heads from a shop in Tiffin Ohio (I Don't mention any names,as Not intented to give anybody a bad name),
Heads Are Now Welded back up,Re-decked,and are in the process of getting sent to Fast Times to have the receiver grooves cut in heads again (Properly),

He says He'll be happy with the Current times (A Tad faster with Cyl's sealing up properly),along with it being Maintenace Free like the Lil Deuce is.,

But i woud'nt be afarid to bet He'll then just add a Plate and Further push the envelope again.,
As He said Once he Got His 8.8 Sec. ET. Car would go back down to a 300 Shot

Not sure How to Post Pics. on Here,
Have Pics. of the Mustang/along with the Engine,Etc.

The Deuce keeps a Low Profile to keep it's "Sleeper" Attitude for the Street,
As He does alot of High $ Street Racin',
He Usually Keeps a 275 Shot when at the track to Slow Car down to throw off Any "Takers" watching Him Run then throws the "Smack" Down with the 400 Shot

You'd More than Likely see a Gain in Performance by Having your Current Carb set up by my Buddy John at>> www.apdracing.com
The Mustang Gained a Full Tenth and 3 MPH,
More than Likely get you a 9.0 Pass at 150+ by a Simple Carb swap

If you Click on this Link and View this Corvette You'll see It's Ran Using a Natuarlly aspirated APD Built 632 Cu. Incher with a APD Built Powerglide and Twin APD 1250 Built Dominators.,
This Corvette Goes LOW 7.20's on engine alone (Car weight is a Tad over 2,500 with Barry Strapped in),
Makes 1,360+ hp at 8,600 on Superflo using a set of Sonny Leonard 14.5* Pontiac heads (Ex-Pro Stock Technology),
This Corvette goes Mid 6.90's at 202-203 mph with a 200 Shot.,
If you Strapped this 632 and Placed it on the Juice in a Dragster Look out
