Getting there, but April 1, 2019 is at risk.....

Aligned front end sheetmetal, installed NOS hood lip molding and eyebrows.

Then moved on to body side molding, NOVA emblems, marker lights, and went right on to door glass, and door frame moldings....

Next, we went after the interior - really don't like installing headliners, but we did the best we could!

The new turn signal lever necessitated a cancel cam change - which turned into a build one from two effort! A 10 minute job turned into 2-3 days....

Glove box, sunvisors, package tray, carpet, back seat, door panels, console.....Ben took a rest in the back seat to watch some drag racing on the garage TV!

Still need to do a ton of things - most difficult is recovering the front buckets, which I've never done before. Right now I'm spending my nights polishing the stainless windshield moldings so we can install the windshields....soon!

The goal was to be done by April 1st, no 'fool'! We hustled, and finished it on March 30th - 1 day early! Took it to his first car show on April 13 run by the local Boy Scouts, and won 1st Place in Muscle Car class. This clutch won't last long, but....

congrats on the first place win. i bet it took some days to wipe that grin off his face. thats cool the front dealer ad plate with the back dealer badge on the trunk panel. i'd put a fender washer on that front plate to hold it better.

Great job with the car!! Congrats on the win!!

Question...where did you get the seat belt buckle holders that are located behind the console? I need some for my car.

The real motive behind the April 1st deadline was for him to be able to take his Nova to his Jr Prom - weather permitting! The car was ready, and the weather was 100% perfect this past Saturday - so off he went.

If ya wanna stand out in a sea of Porsche's, Audi's and Benz's - a light gray tuxedo and this BadAss Nova will turn heads! Proud doesn't come close....

Great story and an even better lesson for us Dads! Take the time to let them learn by getting their hands in there. What Ben learned working on that car with you goes far beyond nuts, bolts and torque specs. Well done Ben and Marlin!

Thanks Ed!! I'm actually a little sad that its done, except for some electrical gremlins, 'cause an entire chapter of life is starting to close.... But, it is quite enjoyable to just hang at a show with him and watch him interact with guys 2x & 3x his age about his Nova - and we will always have racing! Heading to Duke U Friday and then Rockingham Dragway all weekend!

That's quite a story and pretty cool to follow, especially being a Dad with a son who's also enjoyed putting a Nova on the road. I'm hoping my guy will be back for my pride and joy numbers Nova.

Congratulations to you and Ben, those are priceless memories you'll both own forever!

PS, where did you get the tow tabs?

Excellent car. It turned out great. Even better that is was a Father, Son project. That kid made some serious memories and what will probably be a life long connection with that car. Seriously cool.
