Well, it is a small block, but you need to check the size of the cylinder bores. If it isnt 4 inches, it isnt a 350.

EDIT- I looked up the # on another site. He correct, SB 267 , produced 79-82, 2 bolt main.

-dan

"The 267 was introduced in 1979 for GM F-Body(Camaro), G-bodies (Chevrolet Monte Carlo, El Camino, and Malibu Classic) and also used on GM B-body cars (Impala and Caprice models). The 267 had the 350's crankshaft stroke of 3.48" and the smallest bore of any small-block, 3.500 in. The 3.500" bore was also used on the 200 V6, which was introduced a year earlier."

Externally, all Gen I small blocks look the same with a few exceptions you wouldn't be able to tell a 265 from a 283 from a 327 from a 350 from a 307 from a 305 from a 267, even some 400s had just two freeze plugs on the side so same there.

Pull the heads off, lay a tape measure across the cylinder bore, my guess is it will be less than 4in.

Yes. Follow up answer, I don't think it can be bored out enough to make it into a 350

no, if it runs good, you could play with it a while. But after that, I would take what you want from it and scrap it. I dont know how much iron is going for, but you would probably get more for it that way.

I hate to say it but I think someone got over on you about the block. Before you ever buy something like that always get the numbers first then check them out on the chevy mania site or another one to make sure you are buying what you were told you were buying.
