1970 Cdn. Documented L78

Anybody familiar with this car? Says it has documentation. If that's the case, I would have shown it. See any problems with the resto?

Thumbs up

2 things kinda pop out at me. the rocker moldings are missing the extra top pieces for a 70 and the bumper filler panel doesnt look like it has been painted silver. I'm not gonna down it though, its a helluva nice car!!! Too nice to drive thats for sure!!!

Well, I will say this, I KNOW OF THIS CAR FOR ABOUT 15 YEARS. It's not from the USA like his plate tried to led you, it's an Ontario car that was bought with the help of Peter at Legendary. BUT Legendary did send there trailer to pick up this car. I can recall this car in a 6 car crash in Niagara Falls, with 3 cars being totaled. Car was clean, but I haven't seen it in a few years as the owner said the paint was cracking. I know he did pay $28,000.00 CND for the car though. The guy who owned the car, Jim, bought it the way he sold it, with the colour, and engine in that state. So looks like he did restore it, but not to a $75K range.

Missing smog system. Wrong pcv and hose. Odd looking spare tire. Jack in the wrong place. Deluxe seat covers and standard door panels. It would look better in my garage. Earl

Earl, I've never seen a big block car built for Canadian export with a smog system. My 70,000 mile Toronto bought L78 didn't have one, either. Your red L78 have one, Wilma?

This car was up for auction at the RM auction a couple of weeks ago in Toronto. The bidding got up to $68,000 CDN...Not sold. Spoke to the owner afterwards. He wants $85,000 CDN for it. I noticed quite a few issues with the car. Wrong fan, defroster switch and some incorrect markings. The biggest issue was the cowl tag. Looks as if it has been sand blasted and one of the rivets has been replaced using a standard rivet.

My Canadian 70 also has no smog but, I have not yet confirmed if it was removed or not. The previous owner gave me most of the original parts that he had replaced (dist., intake, exhaust manifolds) but no smog stuff??

Nothing on the microfilm re smog option either?
