17X7 and 17X8 rims with 4.5 inch backspacing on a 69 Nova?

Hi all

I have the chance to buy a set of torque thrust rims. Two of them are 17X8's wrapped in 255/45R17 tires, and the other two are 17X7's wrapped in 235/45R17.

All of the rims have a 4.5 inch backspacing.

I want to put these on my 69 Nova. My car has the stock suspension.

I believe I read the fronts will fit but the backs might be iffy....but what about the tires?

Thanks in advance.

You should be Ok with that backspacing on the rear. Best way is to measure the car to make sure 100%. Just measure back from the mounting surface 4.5, and measure 4.5" to the front as well Make sure to take into consideration tire bulge.

All wheel measure 1" wider than stated due to the bead. This is why you will have a 4.5" backspace for the rear wheel, and a 4.5" frontspace as well. This will equal 9" overall, which is the true width of that wheel..... plus the tire bulge.

Hope this info helped.

17x8 245/45/17 rear. 17x7 235/45/ 17 front no problems.

Those look like Showwheels Streeter wheels. If so, they are 4.25" backspace on the 7" and 4.5" on the 8" wheel for reference.

Great looking car 1972novafever.
